Pakistan Rains and Flash Floods 2013

 

For the past 3 years, Pakistan has seen devastating floods, the worst of which being in 2010 which affected 1/5 of the country and killed nearly 2,000 people. Again this year in 2013, Monsoon rain, which started at the end of June in Pakistan, has already killed around 100 people and left over 80,000 displaced, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Nearly 800 villages have been affected, and there is still danger of the situation worsening due to monsoon seasons continuation.

Hidaya Foundation’s partner organization, Hidaya Trust, has a strong infrastructure in Pakistan. Hidaya is active year round with over thirty projects and is experienced in providing disaster relief throughout the country. Please donate towards our continuous efforts.
