Donate Zakat & Sadaqah to provide food, water, clothing, medical assistance and more.
Zakat (Obligatory Charity)
Hidaya Foundation collects and distributes Zakat donations per Islamic guidelines as mentioned in Al-Quran, Surah At-Tawbah, Chapter 9, Verse 60. Zakat funds are used to support orphans, widows, poor elderly, families in extreme poverty, poor young women for marriage, deserving students, poor medical patients, and people affected by disaster. Sadaqah (Charity)
Sadaqah is an Islamic term that means voluntary charity. Sadaqah funds can be used towards any of Hidaya Foundation’s projects. Click here to donate towards this project.
Fidya (Compensation for not fasting during Ramadan)
Hidaya distributes Fidya among the deserving in the form of dry ration to those qualified to receive Zakat. This year, the suggested minimum cost for fidya is $3.50 for each day of missed fasts, however one can give more if they would like and more poor would benefit.
One Million Meals
Every year, Hidaya Foundation strives to provide one million meals to those in dire need throughout the world by offering dry ration food packages as well as cooked meals. Dry ration packages consist of wheat or rice, lentils, cooking oil, and is accompanied with soap. Due to buying in bulk, it costs around 50 cents per meal.
Sadaqat-ul-Fitr
Hidaya Foundation uses Sadaqat-ul-Fitr donations to provide food in the form of wheat, barley, grain, etc. for the less fortunate. This year, the suggested minimum cost for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr is $7.00 per person.
Rohingya Refugee Support
Hidaya Foundation has been providing aid to the Rohingya Refugees since the early days of their migration. To date, more than $120,000 worth of materials have been distributed to over 30,000 families – including food, water, medicines, soaps and sanitation supplies, clothing, blankets, mosquito nets and more. Donate Zakat and Sadaqah to support Rohingya Refugees.
Clean Drinking Water
- Water Hand Pumps – The average cost of installing a hand pump in South Asia is about $300 per pump.
- Delivery with Water Tanker – It costs just $10 per round for a 1,200 gallon tanker to give water to hundreds of families.
Container Shipment for In-Kind Donations
Hidaya regularly ships containers filled with clothing, and other useful household items to benefit the poor in Pakistan. It costs approximately $4000 – $5000 to ship each container (including shipping costs, trucking, customs clearance). Each container provides clothing and supplies for over 10,000 people! Donate towards the cost of shipping to clothe the poor.
Medical Assistance
Hidaya arranges for examinations and treatments for the vulnerable and in need in localities where we have operations. Also hospital equipment is donated and shipped for use in hospitals in poor rural areas enabling them to provide better service to the poor. Click here to donate towards this project.
Orphans Projects
Hidaya currently supports nearly 10,000 orphans and nearly 5,000 of their widowed mothers or guardians under two projects:
- Widow/Orphan Support – in which their household needs are met for $20 to $40 per month (depending on family size or region)
- No Orphan without Education – in which educational needs are met for just $10 per month for each school aged orphan
