Under System Administration Training, fresh graduates and unemployed Information Technology & Communication engineers are provided training at Hidaya Institute of Science & Technology (HIST) www.histpk.org, a division of Hidaya Trust, Pakistan*, www.hidayatrust.org. Interns learn advanced concepts of installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, planning for and responding to service outages and other related problems, scripting or light programming, project management for systems related projects, supervising or training computer operators, and being a consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of technical support staff. Interns learn theoretical concepts of cutting edge Open Source & Microsoft server technologies. In addition they work hands-on in Open Source on Linux and MY SQL and in Microsoft on XP, Windows 7, Server 2003, 2008 & SQL servers. Interns are also trained in VM Ware - Virtualization Technology. Interns from rural areas, and those facing financial difficulties, are supported by stipend for their day-to-day living expenses and two months Internship is offered to them on a no-tuition basis. Less than 5% of Interns coming from strong financial backgrounds do not receive stipends and pay for their tuition. Currently, Hidaya has a capacity of training 20 to 40 system administrators every two months or 120 to 240 system administrators each year. It costs Approximately $150-$250 for a training of 208 class hours (two months) to train an economically weak Information Technology & Communication engineer who is capable of start his free lance work or join an employer successfully. * Hidaya Trust is a sister organization based in Pakistan. |
