Support a School 

 

Hidaya has initiated this project in Pakistan. Once well underway, Hidaya intends to execute this project in other countries where it works. 

  • Began operating 3 more schools bringing the current status to 8 functional Hidaya schools serving a total of 461 students (289 boys and 172 girls)  
  • Hidaya identified and surveyed 5 more schools for consideration of adoption into this project
  • Provided essential school equipment and one year's supplies such as tables, chairs, textbooks, notebooks, etc. to all Hidaya sponosred schools
  • Provided meals to all students
  • Distributed plant seeds to all students and teachers to help encourage care for the environment
  • Installed water hand pumps at two schools
  • In District Shikarpur, Pakistan, 67 applications were received for teaching positions.  Each of these applicants was tested, from which 51 passed and 13 are likely candidates

Future Plans

  • Complete second-phase of construction of one school to improve existing facilities
  • Complete construction of another brand new school
  • Install more fans at schools
  • Install water hand pumps at every school
  • Conduct more interviews to hire more teachers
  • Adoption of 12 more schools in 2008

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC, on September 21, 2006.
