Female Education Drop-Out Prevention

Accomplishments

  • Formed 19 Student Selection Committees at 3 High Schools, 7 Middle Schools, and 9 Primary Schools.  These committees identified 650 potential students for eligibility of support under this project. Investigated and selected 316 deserving candidates out of 650.
  • Documentation was completed for all students including detailed application forms (form HF200), investigation forms (form HF201), agreement forms (forms HF100, HF101, HF102) , and ID cards of parents.
  • Currently, 316 girls are receiving a monthly stipend ranging from $1.64 - $3.28 for use as pocket money.
  • The admission fees, examination fees, and enrollment fees are directly paid to the school by Hidaya.


In Progress

  • All of the qualified female students in this project will be receiving 2 new school uniforms, 2 pairs of shoes, school books, school supplies and more.
  • In an effort to bring more females to attend schools, Hidaya's team will identify, evaluate and support female students who have dropped out of schools recently so they may return to their classes.
  • Hidaya will expand this project and form additional Student Selection Committees in more schools.
 

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC, on September 21, 2006.
