Software Engineering Internship:
Hidaya is proudly running Software Engineering Internship under its Career Development Project for underprivileged & unemployed Information Technology Graduates, in which a number of male and female IT graduates are getting training of software engineering. Preference is given to applicants who have graduated with an undergraduate degree in an IT related discipline and have not found a job since a year or long.
Currently this internship is being offered at Hidaya Trust, Jamshoro / Hyderbad District Operations in Pakistan. Jamshoro / Hyderabad is famous for offering wide variety of educational opportunities to National and International students. University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Liaquat University of Medical Sciences, Isra University of Medical and Science and underway Dr. Baqai Eductaion City are on top from where thousands of students complete their education every year.
This program includes training of cutting edge technologies like web distributed system with tools like ASP.Net, SQL Server, PHP, MySQL, along with workshops of System hardware and software with networking under supervision of senior, experienced, qualified and certified staff. While learmning at Hidaya, Internee will have the opportunity to work directly on various Hidaya-IT related tasks, including but not limited to development of Hidaya's internal paperless system, providing consultancy to external customers (profit and non-profit organizations), delivering training classes to underprivileged students at local schools and colleges to increase their interest in software engineering and information technology.
At the moment more than a dozen males and females internees are being benefiting from this program. A number of them have got the job /or have been promoted for higher education. Internees are thankful to Hidaya for taking such steps by Hidaya which is directly impacting their lives in a positive manner and has tremendously increase their technical capabilities due to pumping a lot of practical knowledge in a little time. Students are offered a nominal stipend so they may stand on their own feet rather be a burden on the family
Beyond the software development, internees at Hidaya are getting training classes for career development where they discuss socio-economical issues, job markets, interviewing tips and techniques, English language and composition and Resume and cover letter writing skills, etc.
Hidaya is also putting efforts to find the ways so these internees can be transitioned to industry and software development environments. In addition Hidaya aims to boost this program to much larger scale beyond Jamshoro / Hyderabad District Operations where hundreds of such internees may benefit every year.
