Kids Supporting Hundreds of Thousands of Internal Refugee Kids in Pakistan
Background:
As the school year is coming to an end in the US, countless children will be putting away or trashing their used backpacks, and left over school supplies. Half way across the world, over half a million children have become homeless in their home country of Pakistan because of a bloody conflict in their backyards. These left over supplies from “US kids” can be utilized for “Pakistan kids”.
K2K Goals:
* To minimize the impact of loss of education time for the internal refugee children
* To support organizations who want to start schools for the internal refugee kids
Guidelines for K2K Project Execution:
1. This project will be managed primarily by kids with the help of their parents and teachers.
2. Kids in the US can donate their backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, calculators, and other school supplies, toys, pairs of shoes, sweaters, and jackets* to Hidaya Foundation.
3. All items must be in a good, usable condition. Please do not give any torn, dirty, broken or unusable items.
4. Additionally, a small donation of $10 per kid (recommended) can help support education projects for the internal refugee kids such as teachers salary for those kids etc..
5. Hidaya will provide them with flyers, support, and relevant information to execute the project.
6. After enough backpacks are collected, Hidaya will send the donations in a container load (40 ft x 8 ft x 9 ft) to Pakistan, where Hidaya staff will distribute the goods to kids or pass on to other organizations that are operating schools in refugee camps.

Donations can be brought to Hidaya Foundation’s Donation Collection Center every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm – 4:00pm at 91 Montague Expwy, Milpitas, CA 95035
